About Ruth Jones
Passionate about seeing people flourish
Ruth is a non-judgmental, empathetic, and diligent counsellor who values positive outcomes for her clients, their relationships, and their communities.
My Journey
Alongside LifeBack Counselling, Ruth works part time in a tertiary setting teaching Narrative Therapy and supporting counselling students as they grow in their practice.
Her background includes mothering three children, counselling in community settings, tertiary education, and 10 years of nursing across public and private health care. Those experiences have shaped a practical, compassionate understanding of people navigating health, education, relationships, identity, parenting, anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, and loss.
Ruth values balanced living. Outside her counselling work she is often with family, on a paddle board, in the bush, sharing food with friends, or offering Christ Centred Yoga. Her Christian faith is foundational to her wellbeing and purpose.
