The Way Ruth Works

Ruth specialises in narrative, solution-focused, and collaborative therapy. The work begins with understanding the issue and its wider supports and effects, then evaluating what is wanted in light of this information. We will notice skills, resilience, values, and capabilities that can help you move toward the life you want.

Narrative therapy recognises that people can become stuck in stories about themselves or their problems that are unhelpful. We work to separate the problem from the person and explore those stories with respect, curiosity and hope.

Solution-focused work keeps attention on the change you are hoping for and what may help you get there. Collaborative goals/hopes can be shaped around what you and/or your family value, then translated into realistic next steps.
